students at the university of illinois are anything but typical.
Our mission :
We sought out to give a voice to students who are silenced for being "typical" at the University of Illinois. We are all different, and everyone has a story to tell. Those stories deserve to be heard. Being "a-typical" should be celebrated each and everyday.

Dear professors,
We may all appear to be "typical students." We go to class and we do the homework you assign, but sometimes, we feel that is all you know about us. Yes, you know our face and if we're lucky, you will know our names. But, you don't always get to know us by our individual stories. There may be times when we stay up until three in the morning doing homework or studying for exams. There may be times when we have to work on and off campus to support ourselves and fund our college tuition. There may be times when we are going through personal struggles, dealing with the stress of family, and barely getting by. There may be moments when we are going through tough times, and we often feel like we are left in the dark. As students, we don't expect you to know everything we are going through, we just want someone to understand that we are far from "typical," and our stories matter too.
